Ha HA HA , Ya no problem just go south of that one lake ya know were they got those limits of eyes in 09. Then take that first left where that barn blew down.. Now when you reach the woods this is where gets a little tricky....
I will say Zone 172 public land.... Our numbers of hunters in that area has dropped off big time.... We need more people in the woods to push the deer around....

If you kill mallards, you'll have to change your name.

Got done cleaning out flowerbeds for the year. All we have left to do is clean out the car and get the tools cleaned. So I better start the job hunt. Well maybe after hunting season. Can't believe how hunting is creaping right around the corner. Dave I have my 2 person ladder stand now, so if you can think of a good place to put it.
I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.

It's around the cornere alright! 10 days of pacing, kinfe sharpening, clothes warshing, food cooking (bring goodies on the second weekend. ), rubbing door frames, chasing secrataies, picking fights. Yep, it's almost here.

I am starting to think I need to put in safety restraints on the boys every time we drive around town in the evening there are deer all over. I half expect one of them to jump out and try for one hand to hand.

The Joint Commission is auditing my hospital this week. Because of my job, they have followed me to some Dr Blues and Rapid Response calls to see our stroke and heart-attack process in action. My boss pointed out that my Oct 1st quit-shaving for deer-hunting date was about perfect. I was referred to by the auditor following around as "the experienced nurse with the beard" a few times. She said if they had come two weeks ago I would probably been referred to as "that homeless guy you just hired" or something like that. I am SOOOOOOOO ready for the season!!!!

Hey T I can attest to hand to hand with a deer is not for the faint of heart.
Several years ago I was home on leave and got to go out deer hunting. Well it was pretty dang cold and after a while I had to get down and start moving around.
Just as I got on the ground I got slammed and hard. Kicked in the head, chest, stomach, and upper legs by a little four or six point. Apparently per my dad who was watching from down the fenceline I had just gotten between a doe and a buck who jumped the fence as I was climbing down.
I was so beat up they brought the tractor down to drag my carcass back to the house. Spent the rest of the day cruising the fields looking for the little bastage...no luck.
Recalling that has brought back some other memories of Sherpa Kurt that should be put down for posterity...

Wow. I usually check here first then the rest of the threads. I see a Sherpa Kurt thread started and I thought someone was playing a joke on me. Funny.

It always amazes me that I could possibly need anything, but even after 30 plus years of accumulating hunting gear, I manage to find something I just GOTTA HAVE! This year it's a new flashlight and headlamp, a box of ammo, and there's always a list of stuff to keep the muzzleloader up and running.
