just finished German hunting school! J�gerschlag is 4 november in eltville

In case of a greeting - say approaching a group of hunters early in the morning before the hunt - the reply will be "Weidmannsheil".

cmg is correct, and to add, any time you would say "Thanks" you should use Waidmannsdank.
