Thanks for posting more of these great pictures. Just thinking about them for a few minutes is a nice escape from the everyday world.

Its the one on the left as you face the pic. Notice the just slightly curved lever and the Marlin style pistol grip. Oh, and your eyes are much younger than mine. grin

well it looks like a P/G to me but I could be wrong, always hard to tell.

interestingly, it also has what appears to be an early Lyman tang sight AND is still wearing the rear sight but does look like the elevator MIGHT be removed.

if you right click the picture as originally posted and click "view Image" then hold the ctrl key and hit + a few times, it will get quite large (at least using Firefox)... just remember to hit the - button to bring the screen size back down to normal and you will have to back up to get back to the campfire site.

Drew - I was able to enlarge the photo. Still requires imagination for me to see it.

Either that guy is short, or that's a BIG body on that deer.

Seller said, " It came out of the Sawyer Minnesota area."

I thought it looked like he was smiling and pointing at the glum faced man with the smaller deer. Maybe because that is what I'd be doing if it where me in the photo smile

Gary -

And I guess the results of a Savage vs. a Winchester were quite definitive wink
