Has anyone gotten their hands on one of these. I'm thinking about putting one on a guide gun to have the option of a compact scope or red dot with the aperture as a back up.

had an ace in the hole on my H&R single shot 30-30 v- had to adapt it from a unused base. it works and is a good emergency sight. it has coarse adjustments, however.

I loved my Ace in the Hole sight and then I lost it in a move. If you can find them BUY. I have been looking for 2 years for an older model and no luck.
The one problem of the older ones, if it is a problem, is the the mount is very low and limits the size of the lenses.

That's why you go low-pro. Makes for a pretty sleek setup too......

Looks like Midway USA finally got some in for Marlins. I think I'll order one today.
2muchgun, is that the ace in the hole sight? I didn't know the aperture flipped down.

That is an original one. I don't know anything about the newer ones. As a matter of fact, I didn't know they still made them. I was surprised to hear them brought up. Most folks don't know what they are......

I didn't know anything about them until a few weeks ago. They are $55 on Midways website and I think that is pretty cheap for the rail, aperture sight and new front sight. Everything else I priced was over $100. They are not on Williams website but if you open the 2012 catalog .pdf they are on the front as a new item.

The one pictured above is an original Redfield base with the folding peep. I have purchased a couple and had them fitted to other bases. They are not in production that I know of. The Williams is similar in the idea, but the "peep" doesn't fold down on them.

Yep that is correct, it is a Redfield. I should have added that......
