Speaking of cameras...

Do any of ya'll know about the Cannon PowerShot SD500 IS?

I picked one up yesterday afternoon. I needed a different camera and wanted a decent zoom, but didn't need a DSLR type camera. They have more features than I'll use. Realistically, so does this one.

Dave the front porch looks great.Good job!

Grizzlybill,We are only getting sporadic overcast skies and some brief rain. Thanks for asking.I had to cut short my walking the two dogs in the park today due to a brief rain storm today. The wind is gusting like crazy.

I too have been on a weight loss regimen. After the heart surgery in 2008 I started walking during recovery.I got up to 4 miles a day but quit walking at the start of cold weather and did not resume when Spring came.A year ago I topped out at 228 and 44 waist.Since January of this year I have been walking again.I take the dogs to the park every day possible. My stamina is much better,my waist is down to 39 and my present weight is 202.8.I'm chasing 199 which is what I weighed in 1997.I feel much much better.I know I eat healthier foods these days.

Your right about the hat Stan I was wearing it and didn't see a deer all weekend . I'm blaiming the moon! I will make sure the next deer harvest pic has the hat in it . I should get one for her too . Stay safe!

Stan, good to hear that the worst of the storm is missing you.

Just returned from the neighbors. He shot a nice 10 Pointer this afternoon. Didn't put the tape on it yet, but outside spread looks to be over 20".

Bill, the woof tag was $30.

Stan, nice work on the weight loss. That's really good.

Tom,
I have had a Cannon Power Shot SD 1400 IS for over 3 years and find it very easy to use and it takes good pics with a good zoom. Mine must be an older version of the one you got. You will like it.

Good to know, thanks. Playing with this one, it shoots a bit slow since it's 16 MP. But it takes better pics than anything I've ever had.

Nice job on the exercise program Stan! But did you say you stop when it gets to be cold weather? Uh, when exactly do you get cold weather down there again? Just teasing ya! Stick with it.... It's good for the dog too.

No deer yet Stan?

ND, has your group ever had a wolf they would have been able to shoot at during deer season? Or are you gonna have to manufacture one another way?

Bman, did you get a woof tag?

I have two on the trail cam and 1 coyote I think. If I got one I was going to get one on opportunity. I don't know how to hunt them. If I was lucky enough to get a deer, I was going to drive the clear cuts and try to call some in, but I'm not sure how that would work with the blaze ornage.

Next year, I may have to rethink the tag and apply for the late season.

Is anyone here a "bone collector?" Why does 80% of the camo sold at GM say "Bone Collector" on it? I just wanted a fleece jacket perferbaly camo, so I can throw a vest over it this weekend. I refuse to buy anything that says "Bone Collector" on it. I was ready to punch Micheal Wadell in the neck.

I had to go to Fleet Farm instead, which is where I should have started in the first place. They didn't have exactly what I was looking for but I'll be dialed in anyway.

I'm starting out with focus on deer, if by some odd stroke of luck a wolf walks past me while I'm deer hunting, I will shoot it.

If I finish up with the deer hunting early, then I'll switch to a wolf effort wit a little different set up and some locating/calling efforts.

Orange won't make a damn bit of difference. Wolves are as colorblind as deer. Maybe more.

You should come out with a "meat harvestor" series of clothing, knives, gun stocks, plastic cups, thermos', lawn chairs, tupperware...

TZ, I think you would be better off driving the forest roads looking for tracks and then following them and/or calling when close. Sort of a hybrid between coyote hunting, winter ditchchicken hunting and mountain lions.

I'd just buy something Carhartt or Duluth that fits, and keeps you warm and call it good. I try to avoid camo wherever possible myself.

That's what my plan kida would have been if I got a deer first. Drive the forest roads, and clear-cuts and call, coyote style and see if it worked.

I have plenty of Carhartt gear. I need it for work.
