I've always used RL15(44ish) and Big Game(49-50)for that combo, but several guys like RL17 and Varget too. They'll be along shortly for help...
I enjoy handguns and I really like shotguns,...but I love rifles!

If you want to use H-4895 then go ahead if it gives you good accuracy, here's the data in case you don't have it, and some other powders to try if it doesn't pan out:

Notes: case: Winchester (except where otherwise specified in remarks); case trim length: 2.025"; twist rate: 1:9.5"; NOTE: A 1:9" or faster twist is recommended for the 175-grain TSX; primer: Fed GM210M (except where otherwise specified in remarks); barrel length: 24"; barrel: Krieger; maximum loads should be used with caution

R17 works awfully well in my 7/08 with any bullet ranging from 120 to 175

H4895 (ADI2206H) works well with the 120TTSX in my 7-08. I run 42.6gr in necked down Lapua cases with a Federal 210m primer. OAL is 2.825" to fit in the magazine and they are jumping a long way to the lands. Velocity is 3080fps in my 24" Lilja barrel.

46grs of varget with 120's works really well. Wow that's 2 gr over book max, gotta be a compressed load since 44gr is 94% load density coupled with the extra seating depth and final OAL. Thanks but Don't think I care to tread on those waters.

I loaded IMR8208XBR in a friend's 7-08. It shot very well in his rifle and no worries about temp changes.

Your right that's wrong, I should have posted 45gr Varget. Thanks for the correction, I can not edit my post.
I set the 120 TTSX .050" off the lands and shoots 1/2" groups.

I've always been a Varget guy with the 7mm-08 . However I recently ran 120gr TTSX's to 3300 with no pressure signs out of my 22" Kimber using CFE223....backed down to 3200 chasing accuracy but there is no doubt that this powder is impressive in the 7mm-08!

This rifle shoots 3/4 to 1" most days with Varget. Does the same with CFE 223 only 200fps faster....

47/Varget and 120s did 3050-3100 in 2 21" rifles of mine, partial sized Rem brass. I'd back down to 44-45 and work up.

Mine loves Ramshot Big Game with that bullet. My rifle cannot handle more than 50 grains.

Sorry been hunting....49.5gr will easily fetch 3200fps! Should mention this is Hodgdons published max, they show 3125fps or so from a 22" barrel. I was able to exceed there max by two grains with no pressure signs in my rifle. The key words here, "my rifle".....Work up accordingly in yours!!

Wow, I thought you were definitely gonna say something over 49.5 gr, I'm pleasantly surprised, sorry I blew up.
