Well...where's the reports, boys?!
I'd rather have a bad day hunting than a good day working!

Talked with the neighbor this AM. His buck had an inside spread of 19 1/4 and an outside spread of 21 5/8. Taxidermist said it would scored in the 150's.
Than a coffee buddy called to tell me he had a buck in his back yard.

These two are routinely photoed 150-200 yds behind my backdoor but I can't get catch up to them. In the past 24 hr, I've had full draw on a doe, spike and a forky. Let them all walk. Killed a nice branch when I missed a fox squirrel last night.

Well, we're back from up north. No luck for us. Eric (JustOneGunner) had a doe standing right in front of him broadside yesterday afternoon, but alas no doe tags! We went to check out my first choice for a spot Friday afternoon, and there was a portable stand up in there. He got a buck yesterday about 8 a.m. My second spot yielded a button buck this morning. The guy was a newbie so I helped him gut it and drag it up to the trail head. He is part of a group of 19 that hunt a Potlach lease in there. They were 3 for 19 counting his little nubbie he shot today. Very little shooting. We'll be back at it again next Sunday for one of those lovely "day trips" that leave the house at about 3:30 a.m. to make the woods by first light.

I hung a couple trail cams and put up a ground blind tonight, took little man with me. second spot as we were hanging a camera a doe ran right up to us, a good omen since I'm only hunting does to help a land owner manage his herd a little.

No deer were harmed in the Isabella area, at least in our camp. None seen on Saturday and one doe and two fawns Sunday morning. One of the fawns busted me or I would have pop the doe. Brent. Have not seen a moose in two years but they are around. Back at it in the morning...

thought I'd put up a few pics of my hunting spot, not your typical up nort deer hunting, pretty wide open, found a place where the deer cross what used to be beaver dams between ponds years ago ,but now are dry land ,what with the water levels down a few feet. northern view. down in the corner is where the crossing is.range to the woods in the corner is just under 100 yds.Notice the next beaver pond behind, also almost no water ,except around the lodge.about 3-4 deer been taken here over the years. southern view actually this is where an Island comes close to shore. At least,it used to be an Island, there is no more water left.range to the opening between shore and island is about 170 yds. western view over there in the low spot is where most of the action happens, right off the other end of the island and shore.Probably close to 20 deer been "harvested" crossing here by family members range is about 125 yards.range to the hillside in the background is around 450 yds. eastern view pine plantation .very poor visibility, where I expected to see the deer when I put up the stand.Havent seen one here yet, although I found a spot from the stand where I can see my truck parked through the trees about 100-150 yards away.(its red) oh,and the obligatory fuzzy wind chimes pic. A spike,a fork,a 6 point ,and an 8 point.not too bad for a group of six hunters on first weekend.

We've seen ZERO deer in two full days in the woods. I saw two wolves on Saturday at 1030 and one this morning at 0630. Different stands.
Prior to this hear I've seen two in the woods while hunting since 1991.
Camp is where you make it.

Nice work Fluf. Looks like pretty country up there. Hear or see any wolves? TZ seems to be in a wolf hotspot.
