Have been looking at taking a trip to Canada to do some grouse hunting. Have heard stories about how good it is. I have two GSP's and hunt Northern Wis and Northern Mi. Can anyone confirm if it is indeed what they promise up there and worth the hassle of driving, passports, paperwork? If so, can you recommend a place? The one place I keep looking at is called call of the north in Ontario.

Yep, NW Ontario can be lousy with grouse, depending on the cycle. Best to check with your outfitter on local conditions.

Last time I in Canada was on a moose hunt in 95. I have often said if we were hunting grouse instead we could have had as much meat as the moose. They were everywhere.

We were in far northeastern Alberta.
