hey, you shot it - you eat it! Do you have the pelt salted? It will collect a lot of moisture when you do that but it will keep the fur from slipping. Its only about `17 degrees here right now,it should be pretty frozen already. Im making phone calls about getting it inspected ,then off to a taxidermist somewhere.

You gonna at least try the meat?
Congrats though! One less bastid to terrorize the deer...and cattle...and everything else those fuggers do!
I'd rather have a bad day hunting than a good day working!

Hip Hip Hooray for Fluffy! That is a very impressive trophy. To shoot it while stalking is really impressive. Fantasic job! Brought the daughter out to the stand with me on a meat trip on Sunday afternoon. She was really excited to see her first deer get shot. She did a great job sitting still and being quiet.

make no mistake now, stalking consists of mostly standing by a tree and watching. it was luck, pure and simple, good for me ,bad for woof.

Did you see anything of the rest of the pack? I would not think a young female would be out and about on her own.

Congrats though! One less bastid to terrorize the deer...and cattle...and everything else those fuggers do! Honestly,no joke,it has a most foul odor.Imagine a wet, dirty dog times ten,and you got it. I was wondering if it was in heat or something. Im going to ask at the inspection. I dont think I could eat any if I tried. maybe when I get home, I will hang it in a tree for the birds to eat. That ought to get the bunny hugger neighbors riled up.

Hard living makes daintiness a low priority I suppose. Some of our species aren't so dainty either.

Pulling for you here TJAY! Best of luck and have a great hunt.
Any Chickenbuckaroos out there with a report for us cyberfans? How did it go out there? Was there enough food or did you go hungry?

Well finally, here are pics of the buck I shot last Monday (my first buck) I had to post a pic of my new knife I got for X-mas from my mom & dad. It worked awesome!
I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.

Any Chickenbuckaroos out there with a report for us cyberfans? How did it go out there? Was there enough food or did you go hungry? BM we definately did not go hungry. Tom brought ribs, lots of ribs. Dave will post pictures, it was so good. Thanks Tom!!! Dad even ate a little, which is great cuz he is really watching what he eats so his esophagus doesn't get irritated because of the radiation. He said it was very good, I know he would have liked to eat more cuz that is his favorits. DAD HAD HIS LAST RADIATION TREATMENT ON THURSDAY!!!!! He rang the bell (when you finish treatment) at Roger Maris Cancer Center wearing his Chickenbuck shirt!

Nice buck Missy. Talked with Tom this afternoon. Doesn't sound like anyone saw much at all this weekend.

I didn't know this until now! I'm smiling like heck! If you told me this weekend, I'd be smilin like hecker!!!! Took a while to get home. Roads down to about Bermidji were not that great. Not even good, actually. After that they were fine, from Hwy 2 all the way home. Got back about 630, left at 1130.

Ryan, Congrats on the buck and the hunt with your Pops. It looks like he'll eat! Really a nice rack on him! Fluffy, Congrats on the wolf! You got a rare trophy indeed. It sounds like the quota on the wolf kill has a chance of being filled by this coming weekend. I thought I heard 139 killed so far or something like that. That is more than I though would get shot, they're damn smart and crafty. BM, congrats on the doe and taking your daughter out. I bet she'll tell all the kids at school! I'm taking my boy with me this coming weekend. I hope we can at least see one so he can get some excitement. Or I may have to resort to other stuff like building a campfire, cooking hotdogs, and breaking out a thermos of hot chocolate. We can't do the fun stuff like grunt and rattle cuz I forgot all my stuff at Chickenbuck Oh well, I guess it wouldn't be a trip to Chickenbuck if I didn't forget at least something...I always do. Missy is right. Dave made a FINE batch of ribs and spare ribs. I think the crew ate 10 pounds of ribs in 15 minutes. We don't starve up there, thats for sure. He also made a great deer camp chili that we ate the heck out of yesterday. It was fun had by all of us I think. 50 weeks to go and we'll all be back right here!!
