I'm seriously considering a Leica ER 2.5-10x42 with an elevation turret but the only feedback I've read from actual owners is that the clicks are soft without a positive feel. Have any of you guys handled one? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I have one in 3,5-14 and the clicks are soft, indeed. They do have a positive feel, and you will notice and hear the "click" at each click, though. Before you take your shot you have to check it is in the correct position and that it has not moved off just by accident.

Thanks BBerg. Yet another "soft" report. Soft will not work for me. Until I'm convinced otherwise, its off the list.

I don't think the clicks are soft for me at all. Mine feel very crisp. It turns very easily though so it's important to have the zero stop set so you can dial back easily.

Thanks for the response Ebby. I believe you and BBerg are singing the same tune. If it turns "very easily" wouldn't it be easily moved accidentally in the field? I don't want a turret I constantly have to worry about.

Yeah, it can move fairly easily. I've not had it move much in the field but in and out of the case and such it can move some. I just spin it back to zero out of habit each time I get it out. Hasn't cost me an animal but if things get squirrely it could happen.

Can you tell me if these scopes have a zero stop? Thanks!
