Friend of mine recently came into a pair of Ziess 15x60 rubber covered binoc's. They're not all that old. maybe 15yrs old? Seem to be in excellent condition.
What are they worth?
Thanks

How are they marked? Tell me every marking you can find on them. Do they have rubber around the eye pieces?

Okay.
On the crosspeice that bends between the tubes is marked(in white letters) ZIESS West Germany
On the opposite side is marked 15X60.
On the focus knob flat it is marked: MADE IN WEST GERMANY(in white) T*(in red) in an arch.
There is also a serial number stamped here:187XXXX.
There a 3 different graduated scales on variuos parts.
Foucus knob has a +/- scale on it.
Right eyepeice has a +/- scale on it.
Center axle on crosspeice between tubes has a 60/70 degree scale on it.
There isn't any other letters or numbers I can see.
They are black armoured.
Have no rubber on the eyepeices but large soft black rubber cups that fit over the objective lenses. These cups are permanently attached to the inside side of the tubes.
Bud says he thought these were bought back about 1985 or 86.
Hope this helps.

That model is worth about $1000.00 - $1300.00 on the retail level.
