Anyone used these out of a 6mm Rem or 243,
1. at high velocity ( say 3500 fps MV)
2. at low velocity ( < 2000 fps MV)
these seem to shoot real well in a finicky Rem ADL 243... either at high MV or the lower MV..
I was looking to use them for coyote, hence the question about low MV... as the distances would be within 100 yds or so in the local woods..
and the second option for High Velocity for exploding prairie dogs and rock chucks..
so any experiences would be appreciated..
thanks and best regards seafire

We used to use them a lot on chucks out of 240 Pages, we called them chuck points. If we caught a chuck where it was positioned to catch a lot of critter it was very much technicolor.
On yotes, avoid big bones and you'll be just fine with it. Most of the shooting we did with it was sub 400 yds.

I used to use them for groundhogs in a heavy barrel 6mm Rem 700 back in the 70's . My 6mm shot them into 1/2 groups with IMR 3031 . Great bullet in the 243 or 6mm Rem

I carried a box of 50 to Mexico on a coyote hunt, we usually experimented with different bullets. I used a Max or over book max load of IMR 4064 with a Fed 210 primer. You may get surface splash, but the impact will knock the coyote out cold. This hot load will not penetrate a hip joint nor shoulder with this super explosive bullet, but accuracy is fantistic.

Experimented over at the range with them today for accuracy... in this finicky Rem ADL in 243, with a charge of 42.5 grains of IMR 4895 ( from Steve Riccardelli's fantastic web site) and corresponding to the old IMR Brown Sheet charge for 80 grain bullets...5 Speer 75 grain HPs gave me one 338 sized hole at 100 yds...
gotta chronograph it still.. but I gather it is on the plus side of 3500 fps.. primers were nice and tight on the reload... the brass used is Remington, but it is also on its 10th + reload...
the brass didn't stretch either as I was able to neck size it and it went back in nice and smooth..so I am gathering pressure was just fine...

That's all i shot in my old Rem.788. Killed lots of chucks and 1 fox at ranges even i couldn't believe. I have a 10 shot target here shot off the bench at 100 yards. Just one ragged hole. The bolt broke off it and after it was fixed i didn't trust it and traded it for a Ruger 22-250.
