Calguns has so far proved to be worth their weight in gold. At least for Californians. Yeah, California is reknowned as being soooooo gun-friendly.  Admit it guys... NRA, SAF, GOA, CalGuns, you name it, California is pretty much lost as far as ever regaining any meaningful gains in getting back your lost gun rights. Whacky laws that originate in CA somehow find a hold in mainstream America. The 9th circus helps this process along. As Ca goes, so goes the rest of the nation...eventually.

I wouldn't give them the time of day, much less any money...Sal...the best bang for your buck is either calguns or the second amendment foundation...I diligently sent them dues for more years than I want to admit...back in the eighties IIRC, they were involved with a huge nepotism scandal. They supposedly made changes but the only thing in Ca. they're willing to talk about is your checking account...ymmv. You and me, both. The NRA endorsed Harry Reid. Do I need to say anymore?

The philosophies here are parallel to those Ron Paul supporters and the fact that we have Obama for another 4 years. What kind of a person actually believes there is a perfect man or organization that supports every personal taste of every individual?

Its interesting that a large and serious shooting culture exists in the NW New Mexico area with weekly radio programs devoted to the same.
It seems they are rather pro SAF and anti-NRA.

Salmonella: I have been a Life Member of the NRA for 40+ years now and recently upgraded to "Benefactor Life Member" (1998).
I have done much volunteer work for the NRA both at their conventions and in their ongoing political battles.
In addition I send them monies from time to time.
I think the money I have sent them and the battles "we" have waged in the never ending fight to defend the Second Amendment is money well invested!
I also donate to other pro-Second Amendment organizations but I am certain the NRA is more effective than these other groups - especially on a national/federal level.
Your venting is needed from time to time - this defense of the Second Amendment rights has been, and IS going to be, a long, dirty and multi-faceted battle (political war!).
Unfortunately, money (which I know is harder and harder for the common man to come by these days!), is the ammunition/fuel for this never ending battle.
Long live the NRA!

NRA supported Harry Reid's bid in 2012. Bullshyt. They didn't support him in 2010, either, when he actually was in an election.

If you don't like the NRA then don't support them and don't cry when the Brady Bunch gets your favorite Firearm banned. I take it you are member of the Brady Bunch to ban firearms
