Not a ranch, but Custer State park has them. I'm not sure of the season.

Why would you want to shoot a cow?

You might check Twin Pine Ranch in WY.

As I recall, Twin Pine puts their hunts on sale in August and typically sell out pretty quickly. I know a couple of guys that hunted Homestead Ranch in the Goodland,KS area with good success.

There is a ranch about 40 miles east of Colorado Springs that has hunts.Sorry I don't remember the name.
Wolf Sprinsgs Ranch, down further south has them too.

I'd sooner go to a ranch that sells the meat and bargain with them for the meat and hide where it wil be slaughtered commercially to ger a lot better meat.

G&C Packing here in Colorado Springs slaughters quite a few bison. They might be able to guide you in the right diection.
Then there is Black Forest Bison. You can Google and find them.

Downare Ranch, Hartsel, Co. (719) 836-2625

This is the place where that texan had a falling out with the neighbor and killed 38 of his herd a few years back.....

hotsoup,

You might give Big Horn Canyon Ranch a call: 1 (951)789-4690.

There's no cow bison hunting in the park, or at least none that I've ever heard of. Un-advertised few bull tags available for the bargain price of 5 grand I believe.

There's a few places West of Pierre, SD I believe that have cow hunts, might try googling the area.

Were I you, I would call Western Buffalo Meat Processing Co. in Rapid City, SD. They slaughter thousands of bison for the commercial meat market. You can buy the meat and hides from them directly.

And since they work with tons of local ranches, including Custer St Park, I'm betting they can point you toward an economical hunt on a local ranch.

dawaba - thanks for the tip, but my son and i want the experience of the trip. we usually travel out west every year for a hunt (usually elk but we have also done antelope), and we enjoy the travel, etc., so we want to shoot a bison on our next venture. i will call western buffalo about possible hunt locations. thanks again.

I've thought about looking into this place possibly next yesr. They don't show prices but if they're reasonable, I might try them next year.

I have no idea of the quality of their hunts or if they're free ranging or what. Just came across trh site one day and bookmarked it for later reference.
