I see where ACC offers a Micro 7 in 300 Blackout...basically a modified Rem Model 7. I am not a smith and my question is: is there a source for barrels and is it possile to convert one of my Model 7's to the Blackout? If so, would cost be prohibitive? I can get the Micro for $899 plus shipping and transfer fee. Thanks in advance.

Shouldn't be too much drama involved. It's built on a .223 action. Shilen offers a 7 twist in 308. Get yourself a good used Model Seven and have one built.

Thanks Malm, I have a used one in .243. Any suggestions or opinions on bolt face? What has to be changed other than the barrel...did I mention I know very little? Thanks

The Blackout requires a .223 bolt face. You could, (1) try to locate a Mod Seven bolt in .223, or, (2) find a Mod seven or Mod 700 in 223, or, (3) purchase a new bolt from Dave Kiff, or, (4) Bush your existing bolt and fit a aftermarket extractor. Option 1, 2 or 3 are your best bets. Option 4 will probably cost more than option 3. You will need to change out magazine components also.
