Jeff, do you know if the stock was cut for the limbsaver or not? Not sure on the stock, so lets say yes for selling purposes. The gun is in really great functional shape. I am sure it will kill deer all day long. The limbsaver will make it feel like a 243 on the shoulder. Take care...Jeff

Jeff is a solid guy to deal with, and that's a good looking shooter 99.

I have one with about the same S/N as you have, but with the thin forearm. Is the LOP 13 and 1/8? And is the tumbler in the window brass or steel? I'm no savage 99 afficianado, but I didn't realize the 99R pre-wars had a checkered stock.

All: The scope rings are the Millet steel rings. LOP is 13.5 to the end of the recoil pad. Again, recoil is very, very mild with these recoil pads, which are the best for comfort. All PMs answered.
Setch: Savage had many different pre war model 99s that were checkered, including the G and T. All pre war Rs are checkered.
