IO ahve got to use my angled Leica Spotter with the 32X, long eye-relief, wide-angle eye-piece. It is incredible. In comparision to my firend's Baush and Lomb 60mm model, his looked like it had a hazy lens. The detail with the Leica is incredible, the picture bright, sharp, and clear. Also, you don't have to get yopur eye just right to see through it, or fuss with the focusing each time you look through it. It is truly an awesome piece of equipment.

To really appreciate the Leica you gotta have the 32x eye piece.

I'm saving up for either the Zeiss or Swaro in 65mm. Gotta have something packable. Of course, if Leica comes out with one 38 oz or less...

<br>The Leica is truly amazing with the 32x eye piece. It was designed and built to use this eye piece. The Zoom is nice and they have to offer one if they want to make sells. The 32x having so many less lenses has a very wide field of view, long eye relief, amazing light transmission and unbelievable clarity. If you had a 20-60 set on 32x and another identical Leica right beside it with the fixed 32x you would not believe the difference.

<br>There is a use for the 20-60 but most of the time you find yourself using it on around 40x. 60x can be used on a good tripod but its tough to judge animals with because of the small exit pupil, heat waves and shakiness (is that even a word).

<br>You really need to get both or you would be doing yourself and the spotter an injustice.

<br>Appreciate the input. You convinced me. I already have a lightweight variable,that is my "Mountain Glass". The Leica will be used in a different role,until my oldest boy is big enough,that I can throw it into his pack(grin).

<br>When it is time to purchase,I'll give you a ring and will most certainly opt the 32X eyepiece first..............

<br>It is heavy and bulky. It would be great to "pack" to Texas deer stand and help you avaoid costly mistakes. For elk hunting, it would probably be a little much. If and when I get around to getting a packable spotter, it will be one with a straight eye-piece. I'm thinking the Leupold or the Minox 62ish mm model would be a good option.

Chris, what can you tell me about the newer Swaro and Zeiss scopes that come in a smaller package (65mm)? Have you heard if Leica is coming out with something similar? I need a new spotter here in the next year. Thanks!

Uh oh, Leica makes a lightweight spotter? Guys, I am BROKE as to hunting/shooting stuff for a while. That's okay, because I did get a couple very nice pieces of equipment that will last a lifetime. Since Leica makes a packable spotter, I'll have to wait and save for that one, as well as the 1200 LRF. There is no way I could be happy with the Leupold or Minox knowing Leica has one.
