Those are REAL Ducks? I swear, I haven't seen one in ages. They have become more rare down here than ND's deer have become up there.

About all I have to show for the weekend is now half eaten - after fixing it per ND's grouse in cream sauce recipe.

Not a very good picture I'm afraid.

I disagree.

That shotgun and puppy make it worth the look.

I'll start a thread on the fire as well but I have a question for y'all...

I have a Primos Truth Cam 35 that the LCD screen doesn't work. This is the same camera that the batteries leaked and corroded into last winter. The camera worked a few weeks ago and stopped. It was in my boss' back yard to capture a big buck. He changed cards and it didn't work so he changed batteries. Still didn't work.

I took it home to play with it, thinking it was junk, but I saw the lights coming on that show it was taking pictures but nuttin shows up on the screen.

I'm going to throw a card in it to see if it still works.

Do any of you know if Primos will refurb them and send it back? It's over a year old.

Tzone,

I don't know the exact answer to your question but I do know they sell Primo's refurbs. I'm assuming the refurbs were defective cameras that were returned to the stores and then sent back to Primos. Not sure if you can send the camera directly to them or not.

I'll haffta try. I don't have the recipt anymore. I bought them at Cabela's in Rogers.

When I get a change, I'll try to contact Primos direct.

Monday was a good first day, saw 7 deer, shot at 1, missed 1. Must say it was a 300 yard shot on the gas line. Great day overall.

tz, this may be too late for you, but in the past, when I have had an appliance damaged by battery leakage, I have rounded up a new package of the same brand and model of battery and, in small print, found a guarantee and address to replace anything damaged by leakage from their batteries; sent in a nice letter and the damaged unit with leaky batteries, and receipt for replacement. Been refunded the cost of the replacement each time (2x).

I choose Duracell for that reason. Been years since I have done this though. Things may have changed.

I get the best trail cam battery life from duracell, especially in cold weather.

Brent,

You're probably right, it may be too late. It was March when I discoverd the batteries were junk.

When I get a chance, I'll try to get a hold of someone at Primos either on the phone or e-mail and see what they have to say.

I do like the 35's and 46's. They're pretty easy to use.

Made it back Monday night. We had 2 bucks an 8 and 6 pointer for the crew of 5. The 6 pointer was wearing a radio collar. According to the DNR the buck was 2 1/2 yeara old and was captured in January of this year for a mortality study.

I didn't see a deer this year, but captured plenty of them on the trail camera at night. lost 2.5 days of hunting due to a bad back. Weather was warm for the first 6 days with temps running from the high 40's to low 60's. Front finally moved in Thanksgiving evening. We picked up 3" of snow and had temps doen into the single digits at night and upper teens during the day.

Mortality: check grin

Sorry to hear about your back Bill. Do you have more time to hunt or are you done?

When I was at Thanksgiving dinner at my parents cabin in Solon Springs, it was snowing like heck. They ended up with a foot! I was grizzly_bill was getting pounded with snow and was going to wake up to a bunch. All I could think about was how nice it would be to hunt in the new fluffy stuff.
