Which load?

I've done a lot of heavy loads in .45 Colt for my Rugers using 255 gr HC SWCs up to 325 gr Keiths. What are you looking for as far as bullet weight, type, and velocity.

In a rifle probably. I'll try to get up to my bench this evening and pull some data for you. Are you wanting to use hard cast or jacketed bullets?

If that is the Puma which is the copy of a Win 92 I would try the following:

H110/WW296 22.0 gr
2400 20.0 gr
Lil Gun 20.0 gr

Any of these loads will get you what you are looking for. These are pretty much Max loads so drop down a couple of grains and work up to them watching for pressure signs. I take no responsibility for how you use this data (I have to say that.)

The Win M92 clones, Win M94, Marlin M94, Colt Anaconda, and anything chambered in .454 Casull are fine with these loads. The original Ruger Vaqueros that were built on the Blackhawk frame were fine with high pressure loads but the newer smaller framed Vaqueros will not safely take them. Also, never use these loads in any Colt SAA or clone like the Beretta Stampede, Uberti Cattleman, etc.

you can get about 1150 to 1200 with 260 & 300 gr. bullets in the ruger blackhawks & contenders but that's max. the pistols can actually handle heavier loads but the cases ca'nt.--cranky72
