Does anyone have any good loads for a 75g Hornady bthp? I've played around with them a bit in both my RRA predator pursuit 8 twist and my Tikka T3 varmint 8 twist. I've tried the 75g BTHP at 2.26-7 coal with Benchmark, H335, RL-15, TAC, and Varget and haven't found a good load yet.

Both guns are under 1/2 MOA with 50g vmaxes and right at 1/2 moa with 53g vmaxes. Just looking for a heavy bullet load that's mag friendly.

H4895 and IMR4895 both gave me good velocity and accuracy in a Savage bolt but they were loaded longer than mag length for an AR. Best load for H4895 was 24.5gr and IMR4895 was over max so I'm not going to give you that one although it shot fine for me with no pressure signs. As always you need to work your own loads up as what happens in my rifle is not apt to be what will happen in yours.

The AR Comp works well in mine...

I also like IMR 4895, even 3031,

H 322 from Hodgdon's line works well for mine also..

If it won't shoot with 24.5gr of Varget or Re-15, it won't shoot. Move on to another bullet.

I don't load this combo or rifle any more, but interestingly enough I had some extremely promising results with 760 under 75s in the 223 Rem a couple years ago. Mostly I run 748.

Just tried the loads I loaded up the other day. 22.5g of AR Comp clocked 2800 fps and was well under 1/2 moa for 3 shots. I tried two 3 shot groups and both were excellent. AR-comp metered fairly well too. I was concerned it wouldn't because it looks about like RL-15 but it metered pretty good. This is my first time loading AR Comp but I'll have to play with it some more.

Thinking of getting an AR (or two) and trying these bullets. Anybody got a good line on where to find the best prices?

I got under 1/2" in my 1:9 twist CZ with 21gn of Varget

I found the two boxes at a gun show a couple years ago for cheap, but I don't know where to find them consistently.

I've only been able to get them up to about 2850 with a standard 223.
