Went to check my trapline today and right before I got to my parking spot this big boy trotted across the road. I did a bit of a double take at such a large pup but quickly drew my Mk2 Ruger and hopped the guard rail. For some strange reason this fox didn't pay me any attention, he was busy with a deer bone so I head shot him at 20 yards. Checked my first set and had the matching vixen. Good day!

maybe it's just the picture, BUT that first one looks down right FAT. Nice matching pair.

First one was my second heaviest one ever at 27lbs. The other one is medium size around here, 16lbs. These cross foxes are the most common, with silver and reds a bit more rare. Here is what the silvers look like. Thanks for the compliments, I'm having a blast this winter!

Most of the islands have Russian fox. These were brought here over 100 years ago. We got two more tonight that were the same color and a friend got one yesterday that he described as looking like a holstein cow. Mostly black with big random white patches on it. I'm hoping to get pictures of it before it goes to the taxidermist.
