Well my 2 cents worth...

2- A-bolt .22's (son needed one too)
.222 A-Bolt.. SWEET!
.257 Roberts A-Bolt... My first A-bolt
.308 X-Bolt.. Turning into a real game getter.
.25WSSM A-Bolt .. yea I know but it shoots good .. smile

Maybe not the "perfect" gun and not for everyone, but all the above do for me is one thing and that one thing very good.. They hit where the Crosshairs are placed, there light, smooth actions, crisp triggers and look good doin it ...

My go-to rifle is an A-Bolt Stainless Stalker in .270 win., VX3 on top. It's like a swiss clock, always on time. It shoots MOA or better with good ammo and totally reliable. Wonderful rifles that get a bum rap. You'll love it. Great price too.

I have several. All of them shoot less than MOA with their favorite load. The only legitimate complaint I've ever heard about the A-Bolt is that the trigger group is poorly designed and can gum/freeze up. I've used my oldest A-Bolt for 24 years and it has gone bang every single time I've wanted it to and never when I didn't want it to. There are some 700 lovers out there that can't say the same. If you don't buy that rifle for $500, let me know and I will!!

The earlier BBR was a better rifle IMO, and the FN's were better than the BBR's, but the A-bolt has served me well and I've never had any problems with one.

And I've owned 12.

A gunbroker dealer has a ton of abolt medallions in various calibers for $659 shipped. Guess they bought a stack when Browning made the change to the xbolt. Seems like a pretty decent price, I paid more than that for my first nib abolt some years ago.

The 300wsm Abolt I had for a while was accurate, but felt recoil was more than it should have been. I only sold it when I came upon a great deal on a 300wsm Montana, which I thought kicked less.
