My Ruger 1911 is a decent shooter for the money. I don't care for the sharp angles on the grip safety that chew on my hand. 100% reliable with average accuracy.

Well, at least I have no doubt where you stand on this.

I'm sitting here trying to think what part of the grip safety might chew somebody's hand, and I'm drawing a blank. The MSH has some pretty aggressive checkering that I suppose might bother someone who's pretty tender, but that sure ain't a deal-breaker. I like the way they narrowed the beavertail.

I haven't shot it yet but after messing with it for a few hours last night watching TV the only sharp edge that bothered me was the bottom of the thumb safety when engaging it, but I must have done it at least a hundred times!? must have been because it was chewing on the callous on the side of my thumb?

Some of the old ones are worse but Ruger could have done better here.

Not too hard to see. Those sharp corners where the safety is scalloped near the frame chew into me on mine. A good grip safety is smooth here and does not wear on the web of my hand.

Well, who am I to say - I get along fine with a GI grip safety. But if it's that bad - change it out. Or smooth it over.
