I'm afraid its time to turn the page. 2012 deer hunting is behind us. We stayed in it to the end and we still hold hope as we exit the woods today. But it's over and thats fine. On to other things. Nate wants to build an ice spearing house for spearing northerns. We have snowmobiles to fix up, some final prep work to do on the new sleeper ice fishing house... Christmas is almost here, there is plenty to do and now that hunting is done i can concentrate on these other things. Only one deer for the whole camp was taken, repeat of last year. I hope the deer population comes back soon.

Lots of snow here today. It has to be 10" or better. I haven't actually dropped a tape down to check though.

Pretty day, lots of fluffy snow, quiet, pretty, warm. I'll be sick of it by Tuesday. grin

We don't quite have enough snow to push around with the plow truck yet. I guess that's ok actually, because we want good ice on Lake of the woods. -21 degrees this morning, we're making ice now!

(Snow on the ice sheet insulates the ice, then the ice forms slower.)

Steaming????

That sounds like a problem.

I'm no expert, but I'd say that might not be safe to drive on yet.

Weather man said we got 13.5" in this neck of the woods. I beleive him. I'm surprised how well the big red wagon handled the snow for being such a front heavy truck.

Lotsa goofies stuck in wierd places from driving too fast to work this morning though. Screws up the drive for the rest of us that remember how to drive in snow.

I shake my head year after year at how people "forget" how to drive in the snow.
