Hello all. I have the barreled action of a 1917 saddle ring carbine. I need to find the correct stock, forearm and mounting hardware. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks, Jeff

Should be easy enough to find an 1899 forearm for it but a carbine stock and buttplate will be a tough find unless someone here has a set laying around.

What caliber is it in?

Sorry for the delay- a long day traveling...

Mad dog: it is chambered in .303Savage.

The Murray book shows that the correct forearm for post 1911 carbines is heavier "full schnoble tip" without a barrel band. The correct stock should be straight grip with a curved butt

Serial number os 1895xx.

Norm: I am open to new or used, I don't know how many options I will have at this point. The barret cutout to receiver length is 7" to the lower receiver and 6 11/16 to the upper receiver block.

Thanks, Jeff

Update: I got lucky and picked up a NOS wood set from a fellow forum member. Now I just need the mounting hardware for the stock and forearm. Can anyone point me in the right direction for those parts? Thanks again, Jeff

If you would be a little more precise in what you need for hardware I can likely help you.

Thanks all for the help, I found what I was looking for. Marshfellow had a NOS stock and forearm, and Lightfoot had the mounting hardware. I'm looking forward to getting it together and into the field!

Hey Bendshooter, take that thing out and blow up some rimrock out by Hampton Butte. Please post pictures, I miss the desert!

I am originally from the Bend area but now live in southern Oregon, about 3-4 hours. I hope to get some desert time this winter. Lots of guns need exercising!

Cool, now is a great time for it- plenty of snow in the mountains, but still beautiful to the east...
