This is a 1 owner rifle bought new in 79 and shot very little. I would rate it to be about 85-90% no dings, scratches and no wear to the blueing,it's chambered in 308win. Comes with mount, rings and 4x bushnell. Is the 600 with vent rib more or less than the mohawk? I just don't know what they are going for and don't want to give the guy a lowball offer. Thanks

the original 600 is worth quite a bit more. they had the vent rib, 18.5" barrel and walnut stock. the mohawk is birch and 20" stock. still a nice little gun but a bit chintzy. 308 is most common. i'd say $400 tops in good condition. the original 600 would be around $600. the magnums (350 and 6.5) with laminated stocks are another 2-300. the 223 and 35 rems are ridiculous. i think the mohawk was only in 308 and 243. maybe 6mm but not sure.

Thanks,I looked them up but couldn't find any price range. What I read seemed that the 600 and the mohawk were the same minus the rib. Mohawk came in 222,243,6mm,308 They showed the mohawk as having an 18 1/2" barrel also,660 was 20"

Mohawk is the cheapest version of the 600s (only made in 600 as far as I know). 308 is probably the most common cal you'll find. Depending on condition of course if its not beat 375-475.If its a nice shooter I'd expect 4-450. I doubt it would ever bring $500 unless nearly mint. JMHO.

Thanks, gives me a general ballpark anyway. The rifle actually looks like it lived in a safe and never brought out. As light as it is I would bet ya know it when ya touch it off.

You'll appreciate its recoil more once you've shot the 350 Mag. smile

In a way, the Mohawk is a better rifle to me.

The 20" barrel without the vent rib should be a better shooter.

I thnk some of the 600 Mohawks have walnut stocks. I have one in .243 that does and have no reason to believe it isn't original. I've had it about 30 years. It's very accurate.

Funny how the vent rib version (M600) is worth more - what a cheap gimmick!

Middle one is a Mohawk I have in .308. It's had some improvements but I like it and have had it many years:

Boltman I like that scope mount on that 94, did you have to drill and tap to do that?

I don't think much of the plastic floor plate either but still really like the little carbine.

Just requires one hole in the barrel band. You can get a replacement band and tap that, save the original. By the way, it's not a .30/30 wink

I at one time had a group collection of the 600's 1 each in .350 Rem Mag,.308, 243, 6mm Rem,222 Rem..,EVERYONE of them were super accurate little carbines. I still have the 6mm Rem (it has a walnut stock) and the .308 I had built into a super lightweight Brown Precision "High Country" in .284 Winchester with a 20" Shilen barrel and Kevlar stock (weighs 5.5 lbs with a Bushnell Banner compact 2X8 scope on it) ...If the gun you're going to make an offer on is as pristene as you say BUY IT at anything under 500 and you'll likely have a super shooter there!...By the way the only one I owned that really was a bother recoil wise was the .350 REmMag..It was brutal on a bench, the others wen't bad at all.

By the way, it's a Leupold, "Detacho mount" - been discontinued for years. Leupold long eye relief scope too. I bought the rifle set-up this way over 30 years ago and it had been that way a good spell before that. I used this rifle many deer seasons and shot quite a few deer with it - some running through brush. The "scout scope" set-up does have its application.

BTW, I think the Mohawks have heavier barrels than the regular 600s don't they? That probably helps the accuracy.

The plastic floor plates on the factory guns often warp over time and just suck bilgewater in the astetics department, but nice aftermarket machined steel, and cast and anodized aluminum replacements can be had. I've had two model 600's, one in .243 Win. and the other in .222 Rem that shot factory ammo into five shot groups that could be covered by a DIME on a good day! One hole rifles like that are not easily found even these days.

Yup the nylon floor plate was warping so I replaced it with a metal aftermarket one. I plan on doing the same with the vent rib, which is also available in aftermarket metal.

I had three 600 Mohawks, 2 in .308 and 1 .222. All had original walnut stocks. All mine were shooter grade and I sold them each for in the low $400 range.
