Got to test the Savage Model 25 in 17 Hornet today just a bit. It got back from Savage Repair shop where I sent it back to 3 days after getting it! It had problems feeding from the magazine, fully chambering a loaded round and extracting a fired case!! Extremely rough! They replaced the magazine, polished the chamber and the bolt and today o it's second group using the factory 20 grain loads shot a 5 shot group that measures .337". Velocity of 10 measured factory rounds was 3647fps.....that's darn close to the advertised 3650!!!! Ihad 3 rounds loaded with 12.1 grains of AA1680, Remington 7 1/2 primers and 20 grain VMAXs that shot .398" at 3525fps. Groups were 100 yards and scope was a Redfield Revenge 6-18. I think I'll mess with it some more!! GHD
