Remington's short run of their camo-stocked pump carbine in .308. If you might know where one is, I'd love to hear about it!

I was thrilled when I recently found a Grice special run 7600 Carbine in 35 Rem, NIB!

Have you tried Pennsylvania hunting forums?

The 7600 is huge in PA due to Semi-Auto's not allowed, and Grice is located in PA.

I am assuming these forums would be a good source to put feelers out for some of those 7600 special runs.

PS Grice did those as well and has sold off the remaining camo stocks.

..I have two Remington 760's in .35 Rem. both first year of manufacture (1952)..I'd searched for a synthetic stock and found that RAM Line made them in a polycarbonate like plastic material .I scored one for 80 bucks new in the box, but haven't followed through yet on installation. I'm thinking of re-chambering one of my two to .35 Whelen. I hope you find the factory camo model you're looking for.

I don't think you could get a cooler fast shooting package with a whole lotta WHOOMP factor than a 7600 Carbine in 308, 338Fed, or 358....

I found that 35 Rem in a little sports shop, out in the middle of no-where.

sounds like the place i found my 7600 factory carbine in 35 whelen. he had a 35 rem carbine too. if i didn't already have one of those, i'd have bought it too. he also had most of the maple stocked 7600 rifles, including the whelen and 6mm. northern butler county, also in the land of iron and beer.

best of luck on your searches for a 308 carbine, i'm from central pa and it took me years of looking at some large local gun shows and gun shops until i finally found one. a few years ago 308 full lenghts seemed to be all over the place and anymore there even hard to find.

Now the challenge is to find that 308 QWAC Carbine.

Then I could have the coolest collections of 7600 Carbines around,

35 REM
358 Win

I passed on quite a few 760 and 7600's in 35 Rem, 35 Whelen, and 257 Roberts as it was not my interest. In fact, the the last 35 Whelen I saw last year was $350 with a nice Balvar scope too.

Okay...if I know there is an interest for an odd caliber 760 and 7600, I can always post the information here and you guys can call those contacts.

I myself would not wait for a 308 carbine if i really wanted one, but instead take a 760 or 7600 and have chopped to 16-20" and barrel crowned. Should not cost that much considering time and gas is money and all the time spent looking for one, IMHO.

As for 7600's, I always thought these guys did a great job converting and tricking them out and thought about having one custom built.

I recall, if you provide the gun, they charge alot less. At one time, I found a very nice 7600 in 243 for $275, but wanted a 7mm-08. I called them, and to convert that same gun to 7mm-08 was like $600ish...and that included a new fluted barrel, custom crisp trigger, stock, and free float scope rail.

I thought it was very reasonable for a custom MOA 7600.

Good luck finding the 760's and 7600's you guys need...I'll keep my eyes out for odd calibers if there is a desire.

I have a 760 Rifle in 308 that is about mint that belongs to a friend of mine.Before I do a listing for it I saw this thread and if someone here is interested PM me your email and I`ll send you photos. Comes with a Tasco 3.5 x10x50 world class plus scope mounted.He wants to realize $500 for it and you are correct they are getting harder to find.

Oh I agree, I've done that with my 358 7600 Carbine, which started life as a 22" 243....
I'm not so much looking for a gun to have a 308 Carbine, that would be easy to do.
I'm looking for THAT QWAC 308 Carbine with fiber sights, just to have THAT gun.
