Both shows are about a bunch of neurotic New Yorkers. Maybe because I Interned in NYC, it hit too close to home. Those were the types I chose to avoid.

Never liked "Seinfeld", or "Friends" for that matter. I don't see how it's possible to not like Seinfeld... Indeed,..comparing Seinfeld and Friends is apples and oranges... IMO, Seinfeld and Cheers might be the 2 best... Yes. Travis

Those were the characters and the setting...
Seinfeld was less dependent upon context/setting than most sitcoms It was a great satire on the human condition.

I always picture this deputy with a gimpy leg, hobbling across the pavement in ancient Rome, calling out to Mr. Dillonodius.

Seinfeld was funny...Friends was horrible, and truly unfunny.
I've actually used 'Friends' as a gauge to determine a persons intelligence. If they liked it, they're complete morons.
Works every time.

Second favorite is Arrested Development... if you like Seinfeld you'll love Arrested Development. It "may" actually be even better than Seinfeld if that's possible.

Never liked "Seinfeld", or "Friends" for that matter. I don't see how it's possible to not like Seinfeld... Easily one of the top 3 Best Sitcoms of all time, and in my opinion number 1. Friends wasn't my favorite but it had Jennifer Aniston in it so whats not to like about that? But since this is Festivus I respect your airing of grievances Yep, gotta like Seinfeld. But I only watched Friends to watch both Jenifer Aniston & Courtney Cox. Seinfield would be #3 all time Sitcoms. Cheers would be #2 on the all time list..... #1 all time Sitcom would be.... Beverly Hillbillies ! For those of us old enough to remember it ! I always wanted to be a Double Naught Spy like Jethro Sanford & Son gets honorable mention for one of the funniest all time Sitcoms, too

Seinfeld, Cheers and Friends were all good sitcoms. Friends was "too youth oriented" for some of the old guys here.
