I agree 100%. The price has gone up since I fitted my .220 Swift #1 with the Kepplinger. It is a fine piece of machinery, no doubt.

No experience with Jewell triggers, but I've done several others. I don't like the Timney because the ones I've seen on other rifles and the one I had wouldn't stay put. After a while, they'd develop some creep. My Rifle Basic did that once and settled down. The rebuilt Remington I had was a dream that never changed. All of these were 2 1/4, to 2 3/4 lb. triggers.
For putting up with dust and crude, nothing beats the open designs like the old, pre-64, M70 or the tang safety Ruger.
That unreliable Timney got replaced by an Alaskan Arms M70 on my custom Mauser. Now there is a nice setup. E

There's another thread about trigger shoes. You might try one.

I've only played with 1 Jard trigger. I think I still have pieces of it in a box in my toy room. A 3 pound hammer insured I was never tempted to use it again.

timney makes great trigers and has the best service going. i have more timneys than jewel and shelin combined but you wont ever beat the 4 lever jewell design. they are the best....but unless you really need a super light triger timney works flawless

I ended up buying a Timney off their website, nickel with RH safety preset at 1.5 lbs. Saved a few bucks over the Jewell.
