We have a Marlin Model 60 and am looking for trigger improvement/upgrades and perhaps a trigger guard replacement as the factory guard etc. is plastic.

Any advice?

This should help. I haven't ordered from them myself but people that have seem to be pleased.

That's a nice trigger guard (although I've never seen it) and it will reduce the pre-travel and maybe some side play but it won't do anything to lighten the trigger pull or get rid of creep. To do that, correctly, requires disassembling and reassembling the mouse trap mechanism multiple times. It's not an easy task but it can be done.

Go to rimfire central for instructions on how to modify it.

One other thing ... Don't reduce the pull weight below 2 3/4 lbs. Anything lower is unsafe.
