After the election I figured I would work at putting together a cheap spare/trunk AR, guessing that eventually it would be not so cheap to do so.

I found a used Cavalry Arms polymer lower locally, and an almost new but very cheap DPMS Sportical upper on GunBroker. A bargain on a new takeoff Magpul rear, and a simple aluminum front sight, and I'm shooting for less than $450. Okay, the mag probably pushes me over that by a dollar or two.

Plus it matches the decor in my shop!

Those Cav Arms lowers are awesome. The only thing I don't like about 'em is the takedown pins aren't retained.
