JES Rebore gets good reviews though I have not used them. I have used Cliff LaBounty a few times. He has since retired and sold his business to Jim Dubell. Top notch work but pricier and longer waits are the norm. Back when I did my rebores Cliff was about the only game in town. I just received my second revolver rebore back a couple of days ago. Al Siegrist rebored both. Cost was $120. I have not shot the new one but the other shoots as well as my custom barreled revolvers. The bores are mirror smooth and slug properly.

260 might be too close. I have used Clearwater Reboring and the work is top notch. That is Jim Dubell's company.

I was thinking the 260 might be too close as well. I'll see what they think at Clearwater.

Wayne York is about as good as it gets for rebores.

In truth, lots of other supposed "reborers" send work to Wayne, add their profit and send it back to the customer as if they did the actual work. (I DID NOT SAY THAT!!!)

Unless it's something special (milled in sights etc), I'd just as soon have another tube screwed on for about the same money.

If it's blued, you save the cost of bluing and a rebored is as good as a new?? I used to feel the same way as you, now, not so much.

Randall Redman rebored/rechambered a pre'64 M/70 to .35 Whelen for me. I can recommend his work without reservation. I have had two revolvers rebored, one by Cliff LaBounty the other by his successor I am pleased with both.

I'll add myself to the Wayne York fan club. He hits his delivery times and does first class work at reasonable prices.

Thanks again guys for the much needed info. I'll certainly explore all the options before pulling the trigger.
