I've been looking at two decent bucks and one cull buck this season and I was looking for some input on age and scoring. One is a really nice 8 point and the other good buck is a decent 10. I've also been looking at a 3 point cull buck and I'm wondering about age. My local wma has a contest with a cull buck division and a big buck division. The cull buck division is the lowest scoring 5.5+ year old buck, so that's why I'm curious about age on that small one. I'm located in south-central Texas. Let me know what y'all think.
125 for the 8 and prolly bout the same for the 10. Im assuming they;re 130lb deer being they're from texas. that deer at the bottom doesnt look any older than 1.5.
Best guess age-wise is that Buck # 1 is about 3.5-4.5 years old. skinny neck and medium-long nose. Buck #2 is about a year or sold older. Bit more gut on him and a slightly thicker neck. The 3 pointer is about 1.5 though. Of the three, closest one to being a cull is buck # 1 if you're wanting a wider-rack genetic he's tending towards the narrow. Personally, I'd let 'em all walk for another year or two. If you're wanting meat, shoot a doe. If you're wanting something to put on the wall, take the 10 this year and buck # 1 next year.

I Agree with these ages. Look spot on to me. My opinion is that 8 point might get quite a bit bigger with another year or two and good range conditions.
