I bought a like-new Colt HBAR right before the last "assault weapon" ban for $700. Within a couple of months I was offered a couple grand for it...

Yea. These prices are making me rethink what's important. A bunch ofAR's in the safe versus the cash I could put away right now by selling. Cash will continue to become less valuable.....that's a given. But no idea what will happen with AR prices.

I had been wanting a Daniel Defense. No rifles available, but I did find an upper at Midway. Hopefully it will not be offended when I put it on a different brand of lower.

I have four complete AR's, two striped lowers around thirty 20 rounders and a few 30 round mag's stashed in the safe. I'm good to go for a while since i only use my AR's for hunting
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

Yup, I sold my newly acquired (3 weeks ago) LE6920 and got a Rem 700 CDL SF in 257 Roy, and even after Texas Sales Tax it cost a total of $100 out of my pocket! Liked the AR but not that much!

I keep thinking about these prices. I do not like AR's and really have no use for one (just not my kind of gun). I own a couple rifles and a couple of stripped lowers. I keep thinking about what kind of Sako's I could trade for...grin

I'm thinking now that the hype is gonna go away and no ban will be enacted. Especially now that no AR was used or at the scene, it is a play for our guns and time we stand up for our rights.
Buy what you want and sell what you want but Im keeping mine.

Bought two Rock River LAR-15's for daughters #1 and #3 for Christmas a couple weeks ago. Daughter #2 is getting what she wanted, a Kimber .45.
Got a couple Magpul high-cap mags as stocking stuffers last week, paid $14 or some such. Went on line today and everyone is OUT? And those that aren't want $50 each???
Guess I got in under the wire!
Coyote Hunter - NRA Patriot Life, NRA Whittington Center Life, GOA, DAD - and I VOTE!
No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.
A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.

If there is no ban, I'm stockpiling PMags for the next scare. Flipping 400 PMags this week could buy yourself a new truck. That's just unreal.
your flippant remarks which you so adeptly sling

I thought the Medical Examiner said he used the rifle? Probably intentional deceit on the part of the media to keep their ratings up. But I haven't watched any of the sensationalism since it happened. I'm not buying into any of it. Kids died. The psycho is dead.

Initially the rifle was found in the trunk, then it became the primary weapon.

I just checked out Gunbroker and I'm not seeing the crazy selling prices on ARs there.
