I figure this to be a pretty short thread. There are folks who like a .260 a lot, but not a lot of folks that like a .260. They are the short action equivelent of the .270 fans.

I don't think Rugger is chambering in the 260. I know Savage and Remington does but i think that Rem. only chambers it in the model 7,Tikka is the only other one i know of without stepping up to Sako, which is a bit out of my price range.

I guess Ruger stopped making their Compacts in 260 a couple years ago. Glad I got 'em when I did!
.....still a few floating around on GunBroker though.

Seems to me that Savage is doing a lightweight wood handled model in .260?

A couple of production .260s I have are a Kimber 84M and a Steyr Forester Safe bolt Both are very satisfying rifles.

Salvage makes the lightweight hunter and a regular accustock model in .260. And the LRP, which weighs about, oh, 11 lbs out of the box. The salvage accustock sporters are ... an acquired taste. But I guess I have acquired the taste, I own a couple of them now. They really don't even seem that ugly to me anymore. (what???)
