TJX owns TJ Maxx, Marhsalls, and now Sierra Trading Post. http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2012/12/21/news-tjx-buys-sierra-trading-post-for-200m.aspxTJX Buys Sierra Trading Post for $200 Million On Friday, TJX (NYSE: TJX ) , announced it has paid approximately $200 million to acquire privately held popular Internet retailer Sierra Trading Post. TJX noted that while it expects the purchase to be accretive to fiscal 2014 earnings (the company's currently in the middle of its fiscal Q4 2013 quarter ), the amount of extra earnings will not be "material." TJX noted in a statement that Sierra Trading Post generates more than $200 million in sales annually, and is profitable. As a result, TJX is paying about the equivalent of annual sales for the company, a significant discount to TJX's own valuation of 1.2 times annual sales. TJX shares were down slightly less than the rest of the market today, off 0.8% at $42 per share.

Or they'll just use it as the outlet for their little girls clothes and drop the outdoor gear

Sierra Trading Post WAS a Christian-owned company, with an absolutely stellar record for customer service. We'll see. Sometimes "the bottom line" and taking care of the customer do conflict with one another.

Wife buys quite a bit of stuff from TJ Maxx in our local mall. They seem to carry a lot of last years models at pretty deep discounts, kind of what I've seen at STP.

Bad news for Cheyenne. I bet they move the headquarters out of Wyoming...

Was just in the Cody store buying Christmas gifts this evening. Hope it doesn't change for the worst. The wife tells me that TJmax stores seem to be dirty and disorganized. I hope they don't fix what isn't broke. I also hope they stick with the good business model of customer service that STP set.
