Just picked up a .17 Fireball. Should have brass and 20gr. Hornady VMAX and 25gr Hornady Hollowpoints on the way. Just curious to see if anybody has any load data they might suggest. The gun is a Model 7 20 inch barrel that I purchased on the classifieds from Mesabi.

I load for a friend who has a single shot on a TC action..
it digests about anything you feed it..
but likes RL 7 and Benchmark with 20 gr V Maxes the best...

My buddy has the same rifle. His likes Benchmark behind Nagel 25's.
My P-N barreled CZ shoots H4198 behind Nagel 20's.
FWIW,,, his needed a trigger job and bedding/floating before it really came to life. Now it's shoots right with my CZ though.
Great little walking varminter,,, you'll love it.

Dan..saw in a recent Varmint magazine JB did writeup on the 17FB, and seem to remember one of the test guns was model 7. i've had fair luck with reloder 10 & the 20hr Vmax in one of 17FB's, other one seems to be digging Benchmark. your gonna really enjoy that rifle, the FB is way fun on stuff. what sorta varminting you doing with the model 7? ![[Linked Image]](http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b179/FyrepowrX/targets/P1010465.jpg)

Thanks for all the suggestions gentlemen. I am looking forward to working up some of the suggested loads. Plan on doing some trigger work to the little gun in the near future. Its all a matter of time and just getting started with it now.

Sancho_Maes: My Remington 700 VSF with 26" barrel LOVES the 25 grain Berger Varmint bullets in Remington brass with Federal 205M (match) primers and W 748 powder.
I hope you enjoy your 17 Remington Fireball as much as i enjoy mine.

Benchmark shot best in my 17 fireball with 20s, but Tac or Xterminator meter better and shoot quite well.
