i lurk on the coyote forum, reading what you all think about guns, ammo and coyotes, bobcats. i hunt coyotes almost every day as i am retired and live on a large ranch in s.tex.this year i started to hunt coyotes and bobcats, on oct. 8th, so far i hve killed 230 coyotes and 27 bobcats, today was a better day than most i called in 2 bobcats and 6 coyotes, all of which i shot with a plain old .243 useing 55 gr. varmit bullet. ive had 2 bad blow ups 1 spine shot on a running coyote and 1 shoulder blow up. the rest little hole in nickle sized hole out. some didnt exit.i find your comments on all of the above very intresting,i never seem to know enough about guns, hunting, keep the info coming. thanks rio7

Man that's awesome. I won't kill that many yotes or bobcats in my life!!
I'm leaving the 26th to hunt around the midland big spring area. It's a deer hunt but would rather kill a couple bobcats than a deer.
You should post more about your hunts and take a camera!! Sounds like you've had a great year!!!

Envious here as well. We have quite a drive to get to some spots here to call them. Saving a lot of fawns by pounding that many dogs.

That's sounds like your having a great season. It was -27 c here this morning and with a 22 km wind it made it feel like -40. Need less to say I didn't venture out.

SASK, sounds really cold to me,it was 85 deg. here at noon yesterday, i wish it would cool off again would make the hunting better, i missed a coyote last night that was running right me at about 30 yrds like its tail was on fire, then killed one that was sitting under a tree barking at me at about 80 yrds, then it got dark. this morning i took my shot gun with me and a e- caller, put the e-caller out about 40 yrds up wind, and a big female came running from the up wind and behind me, she jumped up in the bush and grabbed my e-caller and started to run off and i hollered at her and she dropped th e-caller and ran stright at me, didnt see me i got her at about 12 yards with my shotgun. she was real fat.then it got hot so i came in, will go back out this evening.predators kill about 70% of our deer each year. rio7
