Sugar bowl had the lowest attendance since 1939 when TCU played Carnagie Mellon. It was the lowest attendance of a BCS game ever.
One thing if they ever go to an expanded playoff it will kill off the "One team is playing like it's the biggest game of their programs career against a team that had two or more matchups that were better in the regular season" type of deals that kill off team and fan enthusiasm.
