CT is rimfire only. However it is also limited to .22short to .22lr and .17HMR. So unless you have private land here its a no go in CT. South east PA special reg area says "manually operated .22 caliber or less rimfire rifles and handguns",doesn't list specific cartridges, so I would assume the super mag would fly there. Maybe

What about the rifle to go with this new round? I'm betting it won't be offered in a left hand version.

Please Lord let it be a mid grade to upscale "real" bolt action rifle.

Most of this stuff that has come out--with much hype--in the last 30 years does fall on its face. Lots of boys got rifles with no ammo cause they don't make it or it is gold. Blessings

If it's introduced in the right rifle, it'll sell...
I don't recall being excited about, or even knowing of, any winchester rimfires since production of the 9422 ceased.

I think I could like that if it came in a decent bolt gun or single shot. Not some plastic "marvel".

It appears to have an OAL similar to the .22 Hornet, which means it won't fit in any current rimfire rifles. Meaning that it'll be introduced in either a rimfire version of a Hornet action or in a completely new gun.
After owning and shooting critters with a .17 HMR for a few years and seeing less than spectacular kills on anything bigger than a squirrel, I can't get excited about another .17 rimfire. Sure the extra speed is attractive, but I can get that same 3K with my standard Hornet with a 40 gr. bullet.
