All leather mountain boot for heavy-duty abuse
The Glacier is a classic leather mountain boot that is great for long backpack trips, NOLS or Outward Bound courses and general mountaineering. This boot has a half steel shank and a Vibram Ice New outsole which accepts semi-automatic crampons. The bulletproof Idro-Perwanger leather uppers repel the toughest obstacles and do a great job protecting your feet.

Originally purchased October 2005. Used about two weeks/year. Still in good condition. Never worn on pavement. I can post pictures later.

I've tried and tried to like these boots, but I've finally stopped denying that I'm really a size 15 now and need 49 or 49.5s. These boots would be good for a 13.5 or a short 14. If you're on the long side of a 14 they probably won't work well.

LaSportiva has a narrow fit, but high volume. I used the blue Ed Viesturs insoles in them ($50 new, included) to take up the volume. I never heat moulded the insoles, so you could still mould them for a custom fit.

They stopped stopped producing this particular boot a few years ago but they're still available on amazon for $250 or Moosjaw for $170. See links for comps of new prices. You'd be hard pressed to find this size though.

I doubt it has anything to do with you being a 15. I wear size 14 and no Euro size equivelent fits me. I wear 48's in rock climbing shoes because they fit for rock climbing (tight). These will fit a 12 or 13 size guy fine depending on the width of their foot.

I wear a 15 in Keen, and the Hanwags I just picked up are a UK14/US15/Euro49.5.

These Glaciers would be much to large for someone with a 12 and maybe a little long but workable for a 13. So as I said, 13.5 to 14, but not more.

Just saying I am an honest 14 (Nike, Hanwags, Merril, Vasque, Under Armour, and the normal likes) La Sportiva 48's do not fit at all.
