I've been pleased.
I prefer Leupold in my riflescopes because the CDS works so well for me, but I've got a couple of different sets of binoculars and couldn't be happier.
Good products all the way around IMHO.

I have a bino (2nd pair), a spotter and now just shot my new Diamondback scope today. I have been very happy with my Vortex gear and think highly of them.

Thanks I've been very happy with everything I've gotten from them: 4 scopes & a spotter. Much better performance than I was expecting at every price point. But I've still purchased other brands, too. So, I guess I've sort of "gone back". I imagine I'll buy more Vortex products in the future, though. There are better products out there, but I don't know that there's a better value. FC

We have four scopes from Crossfires to Vipers. I used a 1-4x Viper on a huge Kodiak bear clean-up this past spring that featured multiple charges in the thick stuff. The TMCQ illuminated reticle worked well to center the eye quickly.
I used a 3-9x40 Viper to shoot a caribou bull at about 20' in October. It was a little tough because of the numbers of caribou surrounding us, but on 6x it worked fine.
Also have a 3-9x40 Crossfire II with the V-Brite reticle on an AR15. The illuminated reticle works better than the Leupold illuminated reticles we tried because they do not wash out when mounted next to a flashlight for night calling.
We have four different reticles and each is very different and works well for its intended purpose. I plan to order three more on Monday. They make very good gear...

Oh well, I guess I'll just say what I'm thinking. I think Leupold has been living off their fat for a long time! And I know I for one will not be giving them anymore hard earned money. And often wonder if the one's you hear braging them up, are getting paid to do so. Waay better glass out there for less money!! they really should think about getting with the program! And I don't think I'm alone with these thoughts.
Take care, Willie

If I had a mid price range rifle (Remington 700 in a flat shooting caliber) I would put a Crossfire 4-12x44 on top.

I have two of the higher end pst model scopes. They compare VERY favorably in the optic department to scopes in the $1000 price range. I've never looked through a NF, S&B, huskemaw etc to compare .
But they stack well against anything leupold, zeiss, Swaro etc in their $1000 and under lines.

Not to be argumentative but I just looked at pretty much their whole line at the DSC show, including the Razor HD. I don 't see what all the hype is about personally. They all look pretty average in their respective price ranges.
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

Shag; I have a friend in Montana who put one on a 6.5x284 and he really likes it. I know a gunsmith in Spokane who competes in F-class and he said each of the guys he shoots with who has bought a Vortex scope has had trouble with it. He didn't mention specifics and I didn't ask.
I saw a movie where only the military and the police had guns. It was called Schindler's List.

That's the main reason I haven't given any higher end Vortex stuff a try, if you search the various forums out there, theres been a lot of Vortex customer service used. The reports from customer service have been very good but damn, your not supposed to have to be getting brand new or near brand new stuff replaced or repaired just to see how good their customer service is. For example, I considered a Vortex Ranger 1000 rangefinder from Doug and it seems like 1 in 3 have been faulty according to the research I did.

Just bought a 6.5-20x50 PA with military dot a few months back and it's perched on my 264 Win. So far so good I like the clarity the turret reset and ease of adjustment..Haven't put that many rounds out with it yet but we'll see when the weather becomes decent.BTW the objective isn't touching the barrel just a shadow.

I live 30 minutes from Leupold so it dosen't make much sense to look else year. And nearly all my hunting is behind locked gates or the high country and all the Vortex stuff is heavier.

Vortex has an outstanding warranty,no cards to fill out, completely transferable and I'd guess the only way they wouldn't honor repairs would be evidence of abnormal abuse.Only disadvantage would be the company going belly up but that's very remote as the demand seems to be exceeding supplies on many offerings...
