Mr Petrov, I've gotten two guns from my Grandfather. One I've verified is a Sedgley Mannlicher. The other, the one in question, is posted below. It was scoped well before I got it, but I slipped the scope off last night to get shots of the serial stamp atop the breach. Can you tell me if this is a Sedgley as well? It doesn't bear any Sedgley markings, but it sure looks like many I've seen online.

Please let me know if other particular images would be helpful! and thanks in advance!

That is a nice little sporter and looks in good condition.

I see nothing that suggest Sedgley had anything to do with it at all. The wood, layout, checkering and bluing are not Sedgley.

Sorry I can't help you with who did make it. If you have not already done so you might pull the metal out of the wood and see if there is a name under there. (buttplate as well)

You might post of picture of your Sedgley, I'm sure others would like to see it as well.

Did Sedgley ever work with 03-A3's? I don't think so, but am not sure. I'm thinking they were released for sale after Sedgley's heyday.

Very nice sporter none the less. Definitely not a Bubba Special.

I too wouldn't mind seeing a pic of a full stocked Sedgley. I have yet to stumble onto one that was full-stocked from their factory. One or two that were stocked Mannlicher-style after the fact though.

I disagree and it's Niedner. smile

This is a 1903 Springfield with a Niedner barrel and Blue. The stock is by Tom Shelhamer, an employe at Niedner's.

Here's a picture of the Mannlicher. It's a bit unfocused cause my dad sent it to me and he's not the best w technology.

I'll reserve judgment on the Sedgley until I see some clear pictures.

I had a Sedgley Mannlicher in .250-3000 Savage, it did not look like the rifle in the picture. I doubt your rifle is a Sedgley, every Sedgley I've ever owned was clearly marked Sedgley with circle "S" proofmark.

I have a Sedgley low number Springfield in 22 Hornet. The barrel is clearly marked with Sedgley's name, etc. Unfortunately the barrel is shot to death. Should get it re-barreled but the markings would be lost if I did. Possibly a sleeve job in the future. The action does not bear his proof mark and possibly he didn't have the low numbers re-heat treated for the Hornet conversions.

The Markings are found on later Sedgleys possibly post-war. The stock appears to have been made by the person who made the other stock.

The stock is not by Sedgley.

Is there a caliber marking and "S" in a circle on the barrel?
