OK, so trying something new. I want to mount a reflex sight off set at a 45 degree angle. I have the rails and mounted the sight toward the front of my handguard. I initial plan was to mount up near my scope, but the size of the reflex I believe would interfere with ejection port. Anyone run this setup and can offer some advice or post a pic or two?
Sightmark Z Series with quick detach is the sight I have and a Elite Tactical 10X40 scope on Burris PEPR base/rings.
Thoughts?

I wouldn't touch the sight, but if it works it works. Seems very oversized for what you want; I would run a Fastfire, and I don't really think anything bigger than H1/T1 size is realistic/practical.
I would go 1 o' clock over true 45 degree, too, but the setup is sound. Any selfloader with a magnified optic you might want to poke bad guys with can benefit from the setup.

Yes, the sight is larger than I thought, but it's what I have.

For the price of the sight, you might be able to trade into a Bushnell TRS-25. Or even sell it towards a Fastfire/etc.

Let me look at the Bushnell TRS-25, have heard others recommend this as well.
So would you mount off the side of the scope or off the top rail? I think ejection port interference off top rail, but not if mounted off scope.

Bushnell on its way, sending the sightmark back. Bushnell a lot closer to what I need size wise. Thanks men!

Sounds resolved, but for what it's worth, optics shouldn't be mounted on handguards. Typically, they get mounted on the receiver, and if anything is mounted at an angle, it would be back up iron sights. If you wanted to keep a scope on the receiver and mount a reflex, you mount the reflex on the scope. And for the record, Doctor Reflex sights are worth the scratch.

You won't have a cheek weld if you go with the janky scope-mounts. Besides; you need it to be minute of bad guy out to, what, 50 meters? Beyond that I have to think you're using your main optic. That being said, the offset's quicker.
As for interfering with the ejection port; can you post a link to the mount you want to use? I can't think of any that'd interfere, really.
And the handguard mounting? If you have a free float tube I wouldn't be worried at all, so long as it's of good quality.

I have seen several hand guard mounts and really like it. I believe when I get in my smaller/lighter sight it will make a huge difference as the weight of the previous sight made the gun 'front heavy'. I dont want to mount on top of the scope as stated above, cheek weld issues. I have an NCStar offset mount coming and I have a tactical 45 degree mount.....let me get the NCStar in and I will try to get a pic of both. A friend of mine stated there should be no ejection port interference. I plan to test next week.
