Not on a MR, but on a Hunter's Edge. The oberndorf metal is not really wider than the factory. The reson it won't drop in to a factory inlet has less to do with the width and more to do with the corners of the bottom metal having slightly different radii than a factory unit. If you want to use the bottom metal for a stock that is already inletted with a BDL inlet, it will take some minor work, and almost all that work is in fitting the corners of the plate.

I was going to put it on my classic edge that was inletted for the BDL, but ran into that issue with the corners.

I have an edge on order from mcmillan and specified the obendorf bottom metal so fitment should be good to go just wanted to make sure it would be ok for the narrower stock

Any issues with the SS floorplate accidentally opening ? Have read that in a few places, but wondering if it is a real cause for concern. Looks like they are running a special Jan. 15 - 18th. http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/tag/bottom-metal/

I have had all my McMillans inletted for Oberndorf bottom metal but you may still have to do a bit of work with the dremel in order to get them to close fully. On my last hunters edge I actually did a little grinding on the bottom metal rather than the stock and that seemed to work better. This way you don't ruin the finish on the stock. The back corners by the trigger guard are the only place that usually need a little cleaning up.
