Show starts the first week in February. Anyone plan on attending? Know any outfitters that will be there?

From what I understand, certain vendors depending on their wares are not allowed to show them, and many people that normally would go are boycotting the show as a result.

FICG recently learned from a vendor and client that Reed Exhibitions has BANNED all vendors and exhibitors from having ANY "black rifles," high capacity magazines, AND any accessory used on any "black rifle" from the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show, http://www.easternsportshow.com/
. Furthermore, no brochures or documentation that mentions or pictures any "black rifle" or high capacity magazine will be allowed.

It is extremely disconcerting when those in the industry will turn their backs on their customers and consumers. While we are hopeful that Reed Exhibitions will change its mind, we understand that several appeals, by true industry representatives, have been made and denied. As a result, many large vendors and exhibitors are in the process of considering whether or not to pull out of the show.

As a result of this position, FICG will not attend the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show. We suggest that all of our clients consider the same action. We, as an industry, must support one another and remove those, from our industry, that no longer support the Second Amendment.

Just called customer service. Guy stated he didn't have any information about the ban, took my e-mail, and would have "someone" get back to me. Should I be alert for black helicopters yet? If they reverse they're decision, I'll go. If not, I've got other things to do with my time and money.

He probably hedging cause he's to busy trying to delete negative stuff off their wall on facebook. They are getting hammered on facebook and in a very negative way about it.

Reed has also just taken down their promotional web site page on the 2013 ESOS.

The one that's been up since Nov. 2012 and boasted that there would be a special section on Tactical Weapons this year.



The Appeasers are tumbling out of the brush in great numbers these days. A pox upon them all.

Ive been going for quite a few years, But dont really remember being able to buy magazines, etc.

I would have planned on attending. Maybe not so much now.

I was listening to the radio this morning, and they did a short news story about the Harrisburg show prohibiting the exhibition of "assault weapons".

I've been going to the show off and on (mostly on) since I was a kid - about 35 years. As far as I'm concerned I'll never go again. They can kiss my ass.

It's sad, really. I've been taking my son to the show for a few years, and he really looks forward to it every year, and my daughter wanted to go along this year, too. I told them why we are no longer going to the show, and they agree with me.

They are getting hammered with emails and calls, so much so that the link I posted yesterday in my above post to contact them is no longer valid, LMAO.

Saw a post on another forum from a Lancaster area dealer (Trop Gun Shop). He said right after last years show, the promoter was working with them and encouraging them to bring the semi autos and mags. I don't know what he was planning for a display but he said he had purchased $20,000 worth of floor space. He also had bought a Deuce and Half truck and had it camo'ed or something. Now this crap hit and he told them to go pound sand. Says he's going to run some sort of special at the shop during the show week.

Trop Gun Shop is about 1/2 hr down the road from the farm show complex. Would be worth a ride just to support them.

The Eastern Sports Show, Cheaper than Dirt and Dick's can pound all the sand they want. None will get any money from me.

I'm still going. I'm not going to punish the vendors that go there just because the promoter is trying to be PC. For me it is a hunting/fishing show anyway and AR's have little to do with all that. I just wish I was in a position to help make it worth one of the many African PH's time to show up.

Trop is only 10 minutes from my house The place has been nuts lately but I'll try and stop during show week.

Heard The Trop has changed hands and they're moving to a larger location? Haven't been there in some time, but always liked the place.

Hour's drive and it's always a combo trip for me. Messick's just up the road, for tractor parts; Trop for whatever catches my eye.

Yeah, Trop has a new owner or at least part owner. They remodeled the existing shop (the doorway isn't a choke point anymore) and moved stuff around inside. From posts on another forum, most folks think the service has improved. I can't comment on that since I've only been shopping there the last couple of years.

And yes, they are planning to move. They got a building on Rt. 743 between the interchange with 283 and Elizabethtown. An old printing shop near Pizza Hut(I think). Plans are to include an indoor range.
