My father in law picked up a 1923 modl 12 trap black diamond at Gander mountain for $350.00. Now, someone had cut down the stock and then scabbed a piece back and metal is in great shape other than bluing loss. Very tight gun I don't think they had any idea what it was.

Biggest problem will be finding an original buttstock. I have seen them around and they are not cheap but do come up from time to time. Still great find.

How much did they cutt off the stock? You could always put a winchester recoil pad on it if they didnt cut too much off. I have only seen one black diamond stock ever come up for sale and that was a long time ago.

They pretty much butchered it probably 3+ inches. I googled up three original black diamond butt stocks that had sold on ebay in the last six months. All went for 300-400 bucks. I thought that was a lot (Quantity wise)and wouldn't expect even one a year but he will have to be very vigilant to get one.

Regardless, it was too good to pass on I would have snatched it up myself.
