Gives you plenty of dry and live fire practice time. My brother got one in .40 not too long back and loves it. I shoulda got one in 9mmP the same day.

At one store, I was told 6 month wait and 60 people in line already....

The insanity for this gun has amazed me.
I've seen auctions on GB sell for over $1000!!!

I have a M&P 9C already, really like it a lot.
The M&P series has been very highly rated from owners that I've seen, me included.
So last year the M&P series came out with their single stack 9mm Shield, thin, nice cc gun.

It competes against the Walther PPS for a thin 9mm, but at a cheaper price point.
Smith & Wesson can't make them fast enough to begin to catch up with demand....
I can't comment on accuracy as I haven't shot one yet, but plenty of reviews and vids out there on the net.
Vast majority of them seem very impressed with the gun.

Now the new XDs-9mm was just released this week at the SHOT Show, another player in the single-stack 9mm game.

I put an APEX kit in my full size M&P 9 and WOW what a sweet shooter.

I was on the verge of picking up a shield, but saw a size comparison of the Shield VS the Springfield Armory XDs, basically they are the same size, so I went with the XDs, as I prefer a .45.

I've got a S&W M&P fullsize 45 and feel ergonomically it is a major improvement over the Glock.

Dons99... which Apex kit did you put in it, the carry or the other one.

I'd prefer the M&P 9c Only slightly bigger, more rounds in the mag, trigger reset. Nice gun and it's easier to find at a better price. Just bought one for $500. Might buy another tomorrow.

I love the shield. It's my favorite carry gun by a long shot. I've done comparisons with the shield v the XDs, PPS and glock. If you search for you username on youtube you can find the vids - they may be helpful if you're considering the gun.

I'd highly recommend the shield. It's got everything I want in a carry gun and nothing I don't.

I've been waiting for one in 9mm for about 6 months now.

I think you will like it. I have the M&P9c and love it, and it's pretty close to the same gun, just double stack mag.
