Hi, you shared really nice information here about the cameras all the models are very nice but I think "This new camera is a 16MP, with a 24x optical zoom starting at 25mm for a real ultra wide view. It has 5-Axis Video stabilization, a first for a compact camera. It will also shoot at 10 FPS in full resolution" one is best. so thanks for sharing.

Our pleasure.
The V1's are all gone.
Have some great deals on the J1 and J2.
While they are in stock and the rebates on the J1 last, until 2/2, I can do 369.99 on the J1 with the 10-30 and the J2 I can do 499.99 with the 10-30 lens

Thanks for the report Joel.
I was hoping for more DX or FF news from Nikon. Maybe at the end of the January from the show in Japan?

With the discounts they've been giving on the D600 I don't see how Nikon can introduce another FF DSLR and not end up cannibalizing their D600 and D800 sales. If they introduce a FF DSLR at $1500 (the D600 is $2k) then that would likely not only harm D600 sales but also sales of the higher end DX format bodies that are up around $1000.

Once FF gets cheap enough, DX is out except for those who are either heavily invested in DX glass, are wedded to small size above all other considerations, or a sub-set of photographers for whom the focal length magnification and enhanced depth of field of a smaller sensor are selling points.

Personally, I would love to see Nikon come out with a full frame, F-mount, mirrorless SLR with a large, high eye-point electronic view finder. EVF's are the future. I grew up with Nikon 100% optical viewfinders (the wonderful F3 and F2) but having played with a few EVFs recently and seen how you can see exactly how the image will be recorded, I'm hoping Nikon will bring one out in a flag-ship, full-frame camera.

I would assume that Canon may announce at the show in japan. A 7D refresh is LONG overdue.
Lots of Nikon lens rumurs for that show as well

Nikon has an1100.00 spread right now between the D7000 and the D600. That is a huge difference. The DX sensor is not going anywhere for a very long time. As prices on FX comes down so does the DX. They have a lot of glass out there and they would alienate to many Nikon users if the DX was to go away

Doug, has Nikon fixed the oil spotting and dust issues that plagued some early D600s? Any word on special pricing on these?

Thanks...

According to them there are no issues on the D600 at this time. All cameras are perfect.
They have a 100.00 instant rebate.
We will throw in a 3 year extended warranty at no extra charge for forum members
